If this is the new seasons pass program it looks like they have done away with the BAF passes.  If this is the case my SDC pass days will probably be over.  They have also raised the price to $99 plus tax.
Thoughts?

WAIT A MINUITE!!!!!

It looks like they have updated the website to reflect Old Time Christmas but I may have jumped the gun.  The dates listed are for 2013 seasons passes.  I made the assumption they would also add the new seasons pass info when they updated for Christmas for obvious reasons.  Lets give this a few days to see what the outcome is.
Sorry for a false warning.

That really wouldn't bother me too much anymore, but I know it's a blessing for many others, so I would fight to keep it going.  There has to be a perk to get families to shell out cash for the passes, or they would see a drop in attendance.  I'm sure they realize that.

Well we havent really used the BAFS that often either, and because of money reasons, I may have to wait till spring 2014 to buy my passes this time so I likely wont get any next year.
--However, I am getting sick of the "stick it to the customer" days. This is a corporation that can spend $10 mil. on a new ride at one park. (Not to mention the money spent on other parks Herschend owns).  They obviously have the means to "give" a little appreciation to the folks that made them who/where they are. (Im talking about us).  If they do indeed drop the BAF program, it is just blaten. That is what several companies are doing nowadays though, and we just keep letting them get by with it.

Now I realize, this is all premature. This is just all idle talk right now. But it could be a little insight for the PTB (if they are reading this).

They are already going from free days to some of the BAF days charging $20.00.  Granted this is not highway robbery but you can get a ticket on a Thursday for $30 at the supermarket.  I think they key to this is keeping the entertainment building and growing, not taking something away and then replacing it a cpl years later with something else. This assortment is what makes us want to return.
I hope the prices are in line with last year and that the BAF will remain.  With Obamacare I know my insurance rates have tripled and my discretionary income has been effected.  Take away those group weekends we use the BAF for and that will probably take SDC out of the equation.  I just got off a cruise from New Orleans to the Yucatan for a little more than double the price of 1 seasons pass, 5 nights including food.
Entertainment is getting competitive as there isn't as much extra to go around people are looking for the good deal.  I hope SDC, Joel Mamby and the people who are now making the decisions are aware of this.

Nope, I'm sure they had no idea until you mentioned it.  I'll be sure to pass this info along to them for you. ::)

Funny but condescending. Lots of families out there that make between 60,000 and 120,000 that run their own business or work for smaller outfits getting hit with hope and change bout right now.

Some of us that work for larger companies are feeling the same financial pains.  Its a rough time and I would venture to say that we are talking about the same audience SDC is using as their target consumer.  With Wal Mart greatly reducing or eliminating their orders for the next few quarters, Christmas season included, I would say they know we have a hard time coming.  Last year it was a tax percentage hike, now personally I am looking an extra cpl hundred dollars a month hike in insurance.  That's a discretionary spending game changer and SDC is DEFINATLY discretionary spending.  I have a 2 person household with no kids so I am not impacted like some of the families that are SDC Fans, but I am certainly effected by this compulsory
"affordable" insurance.

personally I expect the passes and BAF's to be the same price and benefits as this year.  it all seemed to wok well for the company and people are getting used to the BAF "rules".

My Sis in Law uses the BAFs for the two adult passes for her two children.

I would hate to lose the BAF passed! I use them every chance I get, except this year. I haven't hardly been at all this year myself.

Me too, Tiffany!  I spent a couple of hours there earlier in the year and haven't been able to return.  It doesn't look like I will make it there the rest of the year, unless I can make a trip for Thanksgiving.

I'll hopefully get to go at least one more time, but still haven't come up with a set date yet.
