Here is a slide/picture looking down Valley Road circa 1970.  A lot more rail fences around during this period of time.

Look at that large sign on the left advertising the "Lucky Silver Mine" aka Flooded Mine.
Wish FM would still see that sort of recognition/advertisement/signage, its almost completely hidden now.
You have a great past just ahead of you.

Here is an old black & white picture I believe of the same sign, and around the same time frame.  Looks like some of the things on the signs are different.....but still think they are both the same sign.

Here is a picture from circa 1970 of the building on the left as you enter The Flooded Mine (still there today).   Back in those days you would have a ticket you would get punched before entering a ride, and I believe this guy was out there to do the punching.

That's correct.

Here is a slide/picture from 1970 of the Hobo's taking over the caboose on the train ride.  I really like the Hobo's feet hanging out the windows of the caboose.  Sorry about the slight blurriness of the picture, it was a moving shot from the train.

These are great.

Thank you...glad you like them!

Here is another slide/picture from circa 1970.   Looks like it was took on Main Street with the church to his right.  Don't know this man, but he looks like my kind of guy.  Hamming it up for the camera.....pretty funny.

Absolutely loving these old photos.  So many from well before I ever would have had the chance to visit, it's my only way to see and "experience" the park and what it was like back then.  Very neat to see what has changed over the years and what hasn't.
This is a stick up!  Get it? Stick.... Nevermind, it's a train robbery.  I want everyone to get your hands up and act scared.

Here is a black and white photo I would guess to be mid 1960's or about.  It is of the Pawn & loan Shop which was located between the Doll Shop and SDC Bank.   The Doll shop back in that day was located in what is today Hannah's Ice Cream Factory.  In that day Hannah's was separated into two areas.   So, as you walk today it would be between Hannah's and Percy's Southwest Grill, and directly in front of the entrance to Grandfather's Mansion.

Great photos Pintrader, they take me back to my childhood. It's nice to remember what it looked like when I first started going to SDC in 1968

This picture from 1973 has been posted before but it's been awhile, so here it is again.   This is off 76 and 265 highway going down into SDC.  Don't believe there was even a stop light in those days.
