Email came in today. SDC announced they are extended all the special SP offers till Jan 7.

WHEW!!!  Maybe I can take advantage of that. I have been putting in lots of OT lately. Its likely I will get at least 10 hours this week. Maybe I can buy our (2) passes by Jan 7 and take advantage of the special offers with the 2 payment offer.  If not. --- Who cares. I still plan on buying '14 passes. Even if I have to wait till tax returns. Still beats paying for daily tickets.

I must admit. I do wish SDC would follow suit to SF corporation.  They have 3 tasty deals right now.
1-buy a SP, no payments till March
2-buy a SP, pay off in 4 equal payments
3-buy a "membership" (basically a lifelong SP). They divide the price of an SP in to 12 equal payments. You pay that every single month. As long as you keep paying the monthly, they will automatically renew your next years pass. "forever". Until you decide to stop paying, then your pass is either not renewed, or becomes invalid and will not allow you access.
(Only catch to that is-you must pay the first "12" payments) after that you can continue, or just stop. No penalties if you stop , after the first year)

I must admit, that sure would be an easier way for us to achieve SPs. '13 has been tough for us financially. Either of these 3 payment methods would be an outright blessing for us.

LISTEN UP SDC !!!!   Lets try this for '15.   It would give some folks an opportunity to own an SP, who otherwise might not be able to.

Last year SDC kept extending the season pass benefit deadline... it went until at least Feb 6. Hopefully you'll be able to get them by then.

Are they not doing the payment plan this year? We've paid in 2 monthly installments in the past. We're not buying this year (going to WI and CO instead) so I didn't look closely.

I wish they'd add a meal annual pass like SF does.  I would totally jump on board with that.

SF passes are good for admission in most all the other SF parks too except for the stand alone water parks.

We knocked around the idea doing this and hitting SFOT, SFStL, and SF Georgia all in one year but we are concentrating on Florida right now plus my wife now has the notion of a Disney Cruise(which I'm not a fan of). We'll pass on SDC season passes this year while preparing for the 2015 addition.

MissKim-yes they are doing the 2 payment option. I even mentioned that in my original post. But understand. 2 payments still means "buying" 1 full pass in 1 payment-then buying 1 full pass next month (if you are buying 2 passes like me).
--If they offered other options like Six Flags parks offers. Like, offering 4 payments, or "no payment till ?" It sure would make it easier to justify buying a SP while benefits are the best.   -----    I especially like the membership deal SF offers. I mean figure an SP at SDC at a cost of $90 (tax included). You would only have to pay $7.50 a month for 12 months. Then next year that may go up a little, but keep paying that small monthly amount, and you have a new SP next year (and so-on every year).
--Imagine the number of SPs they could sell if you only paid $7.50 a month. Plus SDC would be gauranteed a certain amount of money EVERY month for operating expenses.

SWOOSH-I agree with the food pass. I think I mentioned that in another post earlier in 2013. But YES. I would jump on that pass too. It works out well for me at SFSL. It would be real nice at SDC. (Figure I dont always eat at SFSL since I live about 20 min. from the park, but we always eat , at least one meal, at SDC).

Sorry, missed that you mentioned the 2 payment deal. I'm always buying 5 so splitting it in half helps. It's more like buying 2.5 at a time.

My sister got Worlds of Fun season passes for her whole family and they have the buy now, pay later deal... it helps because most people will have tax returns before April 1. Seems like if SDC wants to increase their season pass holders, they might look at their competition in the area (Six Flags/Worlds of Fun) to see what deals they are offering. We came close to getting WOF over SDC in part due to the better payment options... and then we decided to go to Wisconsin Dells for our big vacation and not buy any season passes this year.

Duelist

We did the 2-payment deal last Monday night ourselves.  Nice to split the payments up at Christmas time.

We are going to pass on season passes this year. Only went 3 times last year and with no new attractions or shows I doubt we would even go. I think I am just about theme parked out for a couple years. We went to Europe last summer and Seeing the real things you have only read about sure was better than fake reconstructions. Don't get me wrong I like the rides and attractions as much as anyone but there is a entire world out there to explore. I think its time for me to explore more of it.

Parents married in 76' so great deal for them!

wish they had done '76 graduates..LOL!!!   would have been in!!!!!   LOL...

they will continue extending th SP "sales" until opening weekend..., they have dont that for the last 3 or 4 year at least...  2 weeks at a time!

Hope evryone get their SP that they want.....

qwed94

Sanddune. I sure hope they do. You are right, they did for the last few years, but thats no promise that they will this year.
--Our ice maker quit today. No thats not the end of the World, but we do like our ice in this house. I know I will have to replace that BEFORE buying a pass. So I may really need to wait till tax returns to buy our passes (Even then might not be soon enough).

I need to repair my porch and steps - ice maker - radiator for Shenita - headlight switch for Shenita - tires for the PUP - pay off 3 CCs (not large payoffs) - pay Dad back (small amount) - pay personal property taxes.

WOW think about it like that. If my return is "identical" to 2013. It will be enough to do all of that and buy passes, but I will be broke after that.

Thats OK  All I can say is "SITUATION EXCELLENT"   Im not in charge of that anyway, but I know who is, and he promises my needs will be met! Thats really all thats important anyway.

Honestly if they did some of the "monthly" payment options detailed on this thread that other parks do...wife and I would do it without a doubt.  The two-month payment isn't a bad option, but the continuous 7.50 option would probably keep us as pass holders for a long time, and we would probably only use it two months out of the year.  I plan on calling them this spring and seeing what payment options they have for us.  Hopefully something pleases us.  This is especially beneficial for those of us that don't live in the Ozark area.
Small wonder our lives have so little of God in them, when we come in touch with so little that God has made.

I can see here a Monthly payment would be very beneficial to some...  If the PTB see it as an advantage to sell more passes, they should  offer it.

After much discussion with my husband I went ahead an ordered passes online yesterday. Not thrilled at all by the WorldFest offerings for 2014.

They do keep extending the offer, but I thought they started taking away some of the BAF's as it gets closer to opening. On a somewhat related note, I ordered my 6 the other day. After a year off I'm excited to get back to the City this year. I also thought about taking advantage of the split payment (like I said I buy 6 at a time) but I couldn't find out for sure if I would still get all the perks, although I'm pretty sure I would have.
