The sign says: "Next to his family, Lucky's favorite food in the whole wide world is gooey yumminess of cheese pizza!!"

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

No fire hydrants around in the 1880s, I'd stay away from sitting at the base of the trees.

History Buff

Actually, there were hydrants.

What the heck was that black asphalt dust all over the place?

Flooded Mine looked like it had been closed down Dec. 31st, nothing done to it at all, then opened back up on Saturday.

Quick video I took of Fireman's Landing:

I really was hoping for a brick facade.

Junior, too!

Tinmann, thanks for the photos. From what I see, it appears FL is well themed. For reycycling the CC shot tower, the HDH little swings, and the balloon chase from TSL, everything appears fresh...looks like crowds were good. It appeared the kids were happy. Thanks!

What a great day sunday was.  70's, sun and no wind
the park looked clean and prepped for another season
We were running late and tight on schedule so went straight to FL
Park was busy Sunday with over 15,000 people and they extended the hours until 7pm...  sat crown was about 12,500, of course it was cool and rainy

The new area looked good to me, as it should
everything painted sharp and clean,
I liked the kids shot tower, the operator controls the ride, so no little ones get scared
the inside play area is HUGE,
the balls are back, lots of stuff to do inside.
I also like the Fire Equipment sitting all around and it looked nice
Yes there are fire hydrants onsite
Couple of the areas where people stand in line, need some work, too cramped, and not well thought out.
Couple of things I was surprised to see
#1-  Like it or not,,,,  Dippin Dots is back and in the FL area.
#2- NEW cell phone/camera charging stations, there are 5 or 6 of these.. they appear to be "No Charge" to use, and have 110 volt and USB ports.  just plug in your device and set it on the shelf... Kinda cool idea.....

ALL in All I really like the area, well thought out, lots of room for lots of people, my only thought is they need a "bigger" rider for the adults.. Hmm?  maybe 2016..

I will post my pics in a day or 2...

Got there around 10am and we were back at the condo by 2pm.  I just wasn't feeling it, today.  Even if shops aren't going to be open, you would think more of the concessions would be.

The crowds were pretty thick.

None of the coasters were running "due to weather" - what weather?

The ride operators in FL should have more of a uniform - maybe when it warms up

The ball room was busy and is a great improvement over GG.  The single entrance really helps with supervising the kids.

Dalmations are the same ride as frogs - couldn't they have found a different ride?

Whose idea was it to surround the splash pad with electric outlets (charging stations)?  The stations are soaked.

Restrooms in the area were for men and for women, but another sign at the corner of the building pointed out a post for canines.

Lucky is a nice touch.

I didn't think the little "announcements" were too disturbing, but I doubt the advertisements will generate any revenue for them.

The area is begging for a Firefighter Chili Stand - How about a Chili Funnel Cake?

The elephants look terrible - too many fiberglass repairs

Why is the Heartland Home Furnishings all boarded up (the outside demo part)?  Is it just for the winter, or is this the way it will always be?

I felt more like I was walking around at CC than SDC.

Dear SDC,
I wiped the water off of the tram with my derrière.  It would have taken 10 minutes for you to provide this little service to your customers.

I think you're onto something!  How about a "Three Alarm Chili" chili stand?

Yes, put it right next to the Dippin Dots stand.,

Wow! I have never seen the park so busy. Yesterday we went and we had to wait longer for rides than I've ever had to wait before. Today we were going to go at opening but traffic was backed up almost two miles on the highway to get into the park. We'll go back later and hopefully it will die down a little bit.

^ Yes with so few shows and shops open during Spring Ride Days there's little to take people away from the ride lines.  we've waited in the longest line we've ever been in for the Flooded Mine during this time of the year.

Right now there's a three mile backup on the highway.

sanddunerider

YEs,  I forgot about that part,  last sunday we left about 1 to go do the SHowboat,,,

Traffic was backed up to 465,  And keep in mind there were only about 15,000 at the park that day

So much for that "newly designed" 1/2 mile of hiway to eliminate congestion ::) ::)
