I believe that it is this area circled in red.

Got some photos today.

For reference, this is what it looked like before. Appears as if trees were cleared, but doesn't look like any actual dirt work has happened yet.

What's the "federal government" sign in the first photo? Corps of Engineers boundary?

I wouldn't think so since it's so far from the lake.
At one point the FDIC purchased the land before selling it. I'm guessing that it relates to that time period.

Look again.  (But not in your photo) Half of the middle mountain hill is gone where I'm talking about

The Outlaw

Source told me to expect the park's next big coaster in 2027. Wonder if we will see any minor additions before then.

Three easy upgrades for the park would include adding a themed indoor bumper car ride into the building next to Tom & Hucks Splash Battle, A Flying Scooter ride next to Outlaw Run, and a new kiddy Wheel in the empty ride pad near next to Hugo and Mary's Carousel. Three family attractions for everyone spread around the park. I would also connect Wilsons Farm with Hugo Street and add a path from Wildfire to Powderkeg. I would replace the old FITH building and build a new Silver Dollar City Saloon, which way to small. The new Saloon would be larger, have a new menu with bar snacks, wings, nachos and such and have indoor restrooms. Then in 2027 I would replace Powderkeg with an Intamin LSM Launch Coaster. Powderkeg 2.0.

^ As was previously discussed on this...No.

So thinking down the line.... what are the expectations for the old FITH building?  That's a decent plot of land that they won't want to sit idle for long.

Any other rumblings about a new train station and/or a replacement/redevelopment of the Flooded Mine?

My Idea would be to either add a Mack flying Theatre attraction or to make it the new Silver Dollar Saloon with increased capacity, restrooms and a full service resturant menu. If the park did that they could tear down the old Saloon and add a flat ride in its place.

I wonder if the resort opportunity upended, or at least delayed, some of their plans for the FITH area. Seems like they are focused on the resort itself and the area around PK/AP right now. The old FITH building is pretty decrepit - I don't see them investing in it's re-use. Probably cheaper to tear it down and build new than trying to save it.

Still think the new train station makes the most sense, but at this point they might just tear down FM for it...

In any case, I'll bet the old FITH building comes down within the next couple of years. They will want to use some of the space for pathway connections to help expand the capacity of the park and improve general navigation issues.

Keep an eye on what is coming to Dollywood in 2026.

Also think about what sections of the park have not been "redone" yet.  Lumbercamp #2 was not random.  The current AP/WF/PK project is not random.  Where else in the park hasn't received the "upgrade to Victorian style" yet?

They are going to get their "Gaslight Square" after all.

Completely speculative, but heard that corporate didn't "get" the old backwoodsy style of the park and thought it looked too run down.
