I remember that they use to play classsical music as you decended the stairs and walkway at the beginning of the tour. Why was it taken out , I always thought it added to the excitment of the tour.
SDC has always made a great past to remember

The music is played in the cave from June 1 to September 15.  Its only played during that time since the bats are mostly outside during the day.  The rest of the year they are beginning their hibernation and so music would disturb them.  The music selections are just what the cave guides choose.

The music was there last week.  I really enjoy that part.  I think they should play some Square Dance music and then explain that they used to have dances down there.

the music works randomly.. there is no way of telling which song will play... so having square dance music in there may not show up that often...

i did look though couldn't find anything that was interesting.

Several years ago, I remember that the Indiana Jones theme played once when I toured the cave. . .

When I chose the music this year I did try to stay away from Indiana Jones and other theme park's music. Indiana Jones is already played on a ride at Disneyland, Batman at Six Flags. Plus I didn't want the music to take the guests away from the cave. I picked music that would help tell the stories of the Marvel Cave. I chose opera for Miriam Lynch, classical piano for Genevieve Lynch, adventurous sounding music for the exciting stories of the cave, grand orchestrations to honor the music Mr. Lynch loved and the orchestra's he had play in the cave. I have gotten a lot of compliments about it; hurry back to listen September is drawing near! Hehe!

Oh, about the square dancing music I just couldn't find anything that I liked. Maybe next year!

They played Pirates of the Caribbean when I was there in June. It was the first time that I was in the cave whenever they had music playing, (that I remember anyways).

Yes, but that song is not played on the ride at either of the Disney parks. I put National Treasure on too for that reason.

Coaster

^I wasn't complaining.  :D The Pirates movies had great music. National Treasure's was good too.

I'm not saying you were Coaster. It is just that I had to battle with myself to put that song on there. I like it, but Disney has its own park. That's all.

Coaster

^Alright. Are you sure they don't play some of the Pirates music from the movies on the ride though? I could've sworn they did? You'd know more about it than I would though.

The last "plus-ing" of PoTC, they added music from the soundtrack to the attraction, as well as characters from the movie to the original attractions.

OT: My father once played for a dance down on the landing in the Cathedral Room.
He had to carry his trapset all the way down those stairs and then all the way back up.

I played the music for Bruce H.s Wedding in the cave. Helped haul 50+ folding chairs down and up that blasted tower. The acoustics are incredable though. Oh, and as far as I know the first recorded music played on the tours was fron Walter (Wendy) Carlos' Swiched On Bach.

^You certainly got quite a workout hauling those folding chairs! :D

Bruce's son Brian just got married in the cave. Bruce had to deal with the chairs this time.
