Well....we completed our long-anticipated family cruise last week.  We had a blast in the western Caribbean even with some poor weather (at least it wasn't hurricanes).

I won't bore you with a full trip report but did want to call it to this amusement park group an amazing water park that we got to visit at Costa Maya Mexico called Lost Maya Kingdom Adventure Park   https://maya-park.com/

Easily the most thrilling and most fun water park I've ever experienced.  Place is amazing....great themes and designs and the rides don't hold anything back.

The park is located right next to the cruise ship port and is within 5 minute tram ride from the dock.  It features a 24 story Maya Pyramid as a centerpiece that can been seen through the park and from the cruise ships at the dock.  Looks like both the park and the dock/shops where developed specifically the cater to the cruise ship visitors.   The park is basically a combination Zipline center and water park and you can but tixs for each one or both.  It really is built in the middle of a jungle.  The paths around the park are raised and create an amazing atmosphere.

On the day we went there where only two ships in town and rain in the forecast all day so it was a relatively slow day and it felt like we had most of the park to ourselves!!!...maybe just a few hundred people there all morning.  After finding very reasonably priced lockers within the pyramid 'ruins' the family jumped in a very long and amazingly themed lazy river that ran around and through the pyramid.  River even had a long section full of dry ice fog that created a 'white out' effect....very cool and creepy.

My oldest two and I then headed back to the pyramid and suited up to do the ziplines.  They had 3 courses of lines including a zip roller coaster which we tried first.  All the courses started out of different levels in the pyramid.  The pyramid has two ELEVATORS!!!! you take to get to the start points.  The coaster was a slow curvy helix filled descent which ended with a splash down in a pool.  It was actually probably the scariest zip course because I really got nervous making those turns just hanging from a rope.   The other two courses had multiple ziplines onto various towers set around the park.  The longer of the courses took about 20mins to complete and had 8-10 very high and long rides.  The 'medium' one had 3-4 rides and a couple of rope bridges between the towers.  All of them had a final splash down ride to end them.

Park had a huge kids play structure that my two youngest play at for hours.  3-4 slides on the structure and a nearby 'relax pool' that the played in too.  With some rain coming in...my oldest and I headed back to the pyramid structure to do the water slides.  Wow...the most intense slide structures I've even been on.  There are around a dozen slides through out the pyramid.  Levels 12, 18, and 24.  Did I mention the Elevator!!!  You can take the stairs or the elevator which has the slides listed out by level.  The red tube slide we started with was the fastest I've ever been on....it whipped you through the tube and guaranteed a huge wipeout at the end.  So much fun.  The mat racers off of level 18 where intense....you slide on your belly face first into complete darkness....twist around not seeing what is coming...then burst out into daylight in time to dive down some more....crazy.  After sampling about half the slides a few times it started to thunderstorm....not that the workers seemed to care.  We got a few more rides in before the lightning really started to worry me and the wife was ready to go.  Wish the weather was better...we really packed in a lot of action in just a few hours....would have been great to enjoy the attractions longer.

Few other notes:
Park was completely feed by ocean water - all pool and slides where salt water - first for me
All rides where equipped with RFID scanners for wrist bands (though they didn't give us any)  Park had cameras setup everywhere taking pic and had scanners to try to identify who was there.  During our exit through the gift shop process - they had to manually find our pics to try to sell
Did I mention the elevators - lol - sure beats hitting the stairs for every ride - really cool setup - had the lockers and zipline equipment at the base of the pyramid - zip liners could just jump on an elevator after getting geared up and pick a course to start - then they ended back by the pyramid where they rechecked your gear and you could just jump on the elevator to start another course - water slider used the same elevators
Also had an upcharge freefall attraction within the center of the pyramid.  20 story drop with 5 seconds of freefall was advertised....you just walk off a plank-like overhang in the center of the pyramid attached to a cord on your back (harness) that would activate to catch you on the way down.

Looks very nice

It bet an attraction exactly like that would do huge business in Branson....even at a high price point $89-$99 a tix to do it all.  Add a wave pool and maybe a secondary kid area and it easily becomes the best water park in town by a long shot.  Even if just built as is like in Mexico it would be a perfect secondary weekend attraction to SDC.

We are taking an sdc beak next year and putting our season pass money toward a trip to Disney right after thanksgiving 2018.  We will get passes again in 2019.

Thanks for the update/pics Swoosh

WOF looks pretty good....they really went a lot farther than I thought for the event....I'm surprised by the number of shows and overall investment in the decor.  12 days of Christmas is clever and the Snoopy show looks like a lot of fun.

That being said.....only one thrill ride open?  Was that due to weather or will that be normal?  Upcharge to feed the animals?  Ice Skate?  $14 cookies? Is the park entry tickets the same price as the regular season?  Those are all red flags for me.....Guess we will just have to wait and see how the public response to the setup.

Rides Open:
Prowler
Spinning Dragons
Mustang Runner
Falcon's Flight
Bamboozler
Cyclone Sam's
Autobahn
Fjord Fjairlane
Le Carrousel
Scandia Scrambler
Flying Dutchman
Le Taxi Tour
WOF Railroad
(and several rides in Planet Snoopy)

I'm a little curious why Sea Dragon, Patriot, Skyliner, Boomerang, Detonator and Timber Wolf are closed since those sections of the park are open.  Maybe next year as the park has been getting complaints about lack of rides open.

Well, I made the final payment on the Spring Break 3 Day Disney Cruise. We will find out if cruising is our cup of team
Two adjoining rooms. 5020 and 5022. Split floor plans. A room for DW and I and one for the Kids and my Mom. There's an actual youtube of these rooms
https://youtu.be/xIxM5Fh5v10

So my revised plans for SB 2018

My crew is flying down on the 17th from Memphis and will be be out of MCO by 2pm if everything goes smoothly.

I'm in a bit of a pickle, we got Discovery Cove Day Passes during SeaWorld's Black Friday promotion for a great price and they even include Busch Gardens without having to add it on so I'm trying to figure out a way to get over there. This eats into our Universal time, though. We were going to just hand out at CB, Bowl, hit up City Walk, ect.

We are at Cabana Bay for the first three nights. I was thinking of getting ro Cabana Bay try to check in ASAP and then head to Tampa. BG is open to 10pm. That would give us about 5 hrs to cover the major rides. I can easily see my wife staying at Cabana Bay and chilling while the Kids and I Go, Go, Go.

Sunday and Monday  would either be spent at Uni/IOA or Volcano Bay and that Combination. The day we are at Uni/IOA without Volcano Bay will be a fast pass must considering the SB crowds after we book it to Potter during early hours.

We check out of CB on Tues and we will hit Discovery Cove. The kids have a dolphin swim. We'll stay till around Lunch and then head to Aquatica. I figure this is when we lose DW for the day. We transition to the timeshare we used points to stay at.(3 br for 3 nights for 28,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards, not bad, 3rd best Timeshare according to Tripadvisor)

Wenesday we do SeaWorld, pick up Mom at MCO and after we get her to the room, the kids and I will hit the two Fun Spots

Thursday is planned for Animal Kingdom to cover the new stuff (Flight of Passage, Nighttime Safari, Rivers of Light)
and ride Everest numerous times and at night!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, we sleep in a bit or head out early and squeeze in Kennedy before lunch at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville and then over to Port Canaveral for the 3 Day on Disney Dream.

Sat is Nassau Port day, we'll get off, hit up a few of the main sights, I'll take in some suds at Pirate Republic and be back on board by 2pm to take in more of the ship quite frankly since there's no day at sea.

Sun is Castaway Cay

Monday and tn we are back at Canaveral. We'll head to Disney Wilderness Lodge where we'll stay the night and head over to WDW and endure the crowd. We'll hit our favorites with fast passes and go from there, we may even leave to Epcot as we missed Illuminations last trip but Disney now has a new nighttime show as well. It will be up to Mom.

Tuesday, we check in all of our luggage at Wilderness Lodge so we don't have to deal with it at the airport and go to Epcot and check out the Flower and Garden topiaries and get in the new Soarin'. Stay till around 1:30 and head to the airport for the flight home.

If Disney offers us the timeshare thingy where they give out the gift card and 6 fastpasses. We may switchange Epcot to Monday after the presentarion and use the 6 FPs on Disney World on Tues.

DW wants to kill the Yellowstone Trip. After all the trouble I went through to book rooms at Canyon Lodge and Old Faithful Inn ::)

She wants me to bank most of those two weeks for Europe 2019 aND since we both have Companion passes on Southwest this year, take a few extended weekends.

Chicago, Vegas, Denver, and LA to to Halloween and Universal and Knotts Berry for my son's birthday. I can get the Fridays off and make up the time without using Vacation.

We have a Wyndham voucher from our stay at Kingsgate in Williamsburg with no blackouts or restrictions we want to use at WilderNess at the Smokies and take advantage of our SDC SP discount at Dollywood. That would and actually burn up a couple of days as it would be a road trip and I'm scheming to get Holliday World in on the return trip 8)

No spring break other than a weekend trip due to the Europe trip which is looking like at least 3 weeks maybe 4.

If she likes the cruise, we may include a Barcelona/Rome cruise in it and knock out Pompeii as a shore excursion at Naples. Several offer those but Disney is round trip back ro Barcelona
