In fact, all of the wins you point out are against teams that aren't even ranked right now.

There in point lies my problem with your arguement.
If we cared about what the team was going to be ranked 2 months after we played them, there wouldn't be such a hype when the game is actually played.

Well our problems against A&M continue...

This team is so inconsistent on the road.  One moment we're at home beating a top 5 team, the next we're down 26 on the road to a team that isn't even ranked.

Unless we can win the conference tournament we're looking, at best, at a 4 seed in the NCAA's.

I've thought about it more and I think we can get a 3 seed as long as we don't lose before the semifinals (when we likely face OU).

Great scenario:  We beat OU in the semis and then exact revenge on KU in the championship game!  We are rewarded with a 2 seed.

Best-case scenario:  We cruise all the way to the championship, easily winning all of our games.  Because we cruised past KU and OU (OU is projected as a 1 seed), the selection committee pleasantly surprises us by giving us a 1 seed and bumping OU down to a 2 seed!!!!

It was a bit of a bombshell to hear about the three parks they want to sell--WoF, California's Great Adventure, and ValleyFair.  I was most surprised about WoF, since they've invested a lot of capital into it over the past dozen years (I count five of the seven coasters in the park, including Prowler, were added since '98).  It would be interesting if HFEC bought it; I wonder if they would change it much?  WoF has some pretty dedicated season pass holders, so if they changed it a lot it might drive them away.

In other news, what a wacky day in the Big XII Tournament.

kU gets beat by Baylor. 
KSU (who shouldn't have been 4th seed) gets beat by Texas.
oU exits early by getting beat by OSU

then there is MISSOURI who took care of business and is the only "top seed" left.

Yeah, it was an exciting day!  I see OU dropping to a 2 seed and KU dropping to a 4 seed.  If MU can win the tournament I see them getting a 2 seed.  They'll give the 1 seed OU has coughed up to a Big East or ACC school.  MU could be playing in KC now that both KU and OU have fallen.

Tonight's game won't be easy, in what amounts to a home game for Oklahoma State.  And I see Baylor getting by Texas tonight as well.  I've seen some giddy MU fans already celebrating a tournament championship.  However, any team that beats KU or OU is obviously dangerous.  Baylor's been dangerously good all year for the most part, and they've come out of their slump at the right time.  And lest we forget Oklahoma State was already dancing before the conference tournament.  The next two games will be a lot harder than last night's.

One more game -- against Baylor -- and then we'll have a conference champ in BBall.
Boy I hope they can pull it off.

Anybody watching the MU/Baylor game.  Just into the second half and Mizzou is beginning to take control.  46-35 at the 16:18 left in the game mark.

Baylor jumped out to a small lead early in the game, but by the middle of the 1st half, MU had caught up, and by the end of the half had begun to exert control.  In the 2nd half they built a lead of around 10 +or- and maintained it throughout.  Great game.

Still, I can't see Mizzou garnering more than a 3 seed.  Certainly not a 1, and a 2 is really doubtful, though not absolutely out of the question.  Anyway...good luck to the Tigers in the NCAA Tournament.

In the Missouri HS State Class 5 Girls Basketball Championship, Nixa is leading Blue Springs 29-15 at the half.  Nixa is my hometown.  Go Eagles!  FSN is showing the game.  Surprise, surprise.

^^I love what Mike Anderson has done with Mizzou. The Tigers are really fun to watch and they all appear to want to play for each other. Great formula for success heading into the tourney.

I'd really like to see us play in KC.  The latest bracketology has us as a 3 seed and being shipped off to Boise.  Also we'd likely be playing Memphis in the Sweet Sixteen if we got there, and that'd be scary!   In order to go to KC you have to be a 2 seed in either the East or West bracket; there is no 3 seed in KC.

I think that in order for us to get a 2 seed either one of two things needed to happen:  we needed to win both the conference and the conference tournament, or we needed to play and beat both KU and OU in the conference tournament.  Neither of those things happened.  I know it was out of our control, but I don't think the selection committee will be impressed that we won the conference tournament by beating Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Baylor.  I hope I'm wrong, but I've seen too many teams snubbed by the selection committee for things that were outside of their control.
