QuoteI hear good things about the Mellow Mushroom coming to the Landing. I have never been to any of the locations so I would not know first hand. I am excited to at least try it......unless its a PD cost.

I was at Mellow Mushroom in Gatlinburg,  I was there during the afternoon and found it to be Pizza Hut like.  The atmosphere seemed to be a little "House of Blues "  with pop art and a groovy vibe.  It may have been more about the beer than the pizza or thats how it felt.  Might be a great little meeting place for Branson.

MMM...??.  Beer and Pizza, (hold the shrooms please)..  count me in..!!

Mellow mushroom is OK. Nothing extraordinary. Just another pizza chain. Lots of good beer choices though which is good. Ill keep my business at Reeds Springs for Pizza.

Reed Springs is our go to pizza place too

QuoteIt's called Family Style Dining - think Lamberts.  Also they have a restaurant already in Pigeon Forge so they know what they're doing.

I wish them well but by the odds they stand a good chance of folding on the Landing.  Why ?  Look at those that have attempted the same thing. Many chains with more resources and backing have folded before them.   Branson dries up so much its a tough market during the colder months.  I believe they have to feed off the locals to some extent to maintain during the winter, the landing is a tough location for locals.

ok folks, yes 17.99 is alot of money but, i don't mind paying for good food.  I have eat at the one in Pigeon forge.  each person chooses a protein and two sides and a dessert.  They will refill all of the choices as often as you can eat it.  there is no doggy bags.  So the family style means everyone can share everybody's  choices.

^^  Agreed..    Local people will eat at local places in the off season,  IF nothing else becasue it is local, cheaper, and the food probably just as tasty..

Looks like another eat till you barf place to me. I shy away from these type restaurants, buffets and all you can eat kicks. I'd rather pay 17.99 or whatever it is to a local establishment that prepares fresh food to order. I do not need all you can eat. One plate is enough.

I tend to agree with you on that,
BUT IF and when I do a buffet I eat at Grand Country Buffet,  But my main reason is they have an awesome salad bar with LOTS of goodies..  that is typically my meal, then i get meat and taters for dessert... :D

Let's be honest - most of you won't be the target demographic, much like you won't be staying at the Hilton

As a local, I can attest to this. I'd much rather go local as often as possible to support those trying to make it around here. Some of my favorites locally are the Hollister Hacienda location, India Clay Oven, Mr. Gilberti's, and Japanese Kitchen. Although the off peak season is the best time to hit the restaurants that cater more towards the tourists since you don't have to fight the crowds and traffic.

Wow I had never heard of Pizza Ranch over there before.  I will have to try it next time I am there.

Uhhh, I frequently stay at the Hilton or one of the other Hilton properties when I am there.  But that is when I am working.  When it is on my dime I will be staying at the Ozark Valley.

I have always wanted to try the India Clay Oven but never have.  Is it good?

Your right about that..  If they are relying on my demographic......  They will be closed in 6 months... LOL..

Of course as far as that goes.. If it were up to me,  .. the landing would have been closed years ago. ::)

The target audience was unable to keep many restaurants in business here before, too many to be soaly a operational problem.  The landing does not appeal to a lot of folks and the hotel obviously is not enough.
