So...with weather conditions being pretty bad this Thursday, will SDC close?

There is a very good chance they will, especially if it starts snowing and icing. It's always hard to call off this time of year since families are already in Branson on vacation and expecting to come, but this weather is going to be brutal and I find it hard to believe very many people could have fun at SDC in it. I mean, it would be an interesting day, but very much at the employees expense.

I thought about going over there for a last minute trip just for the heck of it, since there probably will not be anybody there  But if they close, I guess I won't

It's looking likely enough that I've cancelled my Thursday trip up from Arkansas. I'd been looking forward to it for several weeks, but now I'm aiming for a day after Christmas instead, if I'm able. Plus, a three hour drive into the Ozarks in the predicted conditions would be no joke.  :(
You're too close to that nitro!

The City has announced that they will be closed on Thursday December 22, 2022.

I wonder how bad it will be Friday (crowd wise).  Might drive up then.

Today, the 21st, the park had a good crowd, but wasn't anything crazy. temps were in the upper 30s, low 40s. My grandchildren made the trip this time with us and we spent most of our time in fireman's landing and riding the carousel. We made it to parade 1 and after the parade the little ladies were cold and ready to go "home".

They announced they would be staying open to 10:00 because they were closing tomorrow. Hopefully Thursday won't be too bad just because we have tickets to Dolly's and the roads at the cabins we are staying at are quite hilly. Not sure if the ol' SUV will be able to make it up them if there's too much powder.

You'll have the park to yourself. They are going to be closed Friday as well. Given how cold it's supposed to be I think it's a good call.
