With the incoming weather has anyone heard of change of schedule with Kutless or anything.

Swoosh

LoL.  Oh you silly Missouri weather.  Never know what you have up your sleeves.
I wonder how the kids will enjoy the snow and sleet tomorrow at the park.
Should be a lot of fun

It's snowing pretty hard out where I am, hope it's better at SDC.

Still though, the park is known for making the best of things, so unless there's a band issue, I'm sure all the big names will still play.

Zephon

Kutless was stranded in Portland and won't make it today.  But they'll be there tomorrow for the praise and worship service.
"Why do they call them Wild Women?"

SteamFreak

Sunday was a great day, I did notice a crazy about of trash in the park though, like everywhere, on top of trash can even...really sad.

Tom

I went one time to Christian Family and will never go back.  I'm a youth minister and the parents are always shocked when I pretty much lock my knees on going to SDC for this event.

Why? I've only been there a couple of times (and the last time was many years back), but I never noticed anything that bad.

History Buff

These comments are pretty typical after this event every year.  Maybe people should prepare their families for the event better - train the kids, etc. to behave as if they were Christian family members.  You can't just claim to be a Christian and then act like wild animals - or can you?

Well what ever the answer is to that question is.... I wish they wouldn't.

Tom

Back in the days when Worlds of Fun had Baptist Youth Day, they experienced the same problem.  Too many teenagers, too few adults = theft and line cutting.   Youth groups use these events to bring friends who do not attend church.  Is the 'sinning' being done by non-Christian youth or the youth who are church members?  Who cares, I'm not going back.

Well I remember going to SDC the day after Christian Day the year TGS opened and could not believe the amount of graffiti and vandalism that was done to the line of the TGS by the Young Christians -- and it HAD to be them as the ride had not been open to the GP yet.  So sad and pathetic

Heh, I may have told you all this before, but one of the times I was in TGS's queue before they made the current adjustments, a kid started scrawling his name across the wall. Now, he wasn't by himself or with a group of other kids - he was actually with his parents! And when the ride-op spotted him and told him he would be escorted out by security, the parents got all mad and started berating the ride-op, telling him that they should have a sign up if they don't want people to graffiti. Apparently some people think anything is OK unless there's a sign and a cop telling them not to.  ::)

Yeah though, kids suck. It's a good thing this event is technically closed off to the public - that's the best way to handle it. The park gets a load of cash and publicity, and the GP doesn't have to deal with it.

Copper

Sadly that describes a lot of the people that visit. They seem to only care about themselves and no one else. I have seen fights break out because a disabled person was going to be put on the ride and the person in line was pissed because they were going in front of them. I mean good lord can you wait three minutes? It was a person who couldn't use their legs to stand twenty minutes in line. The disabled policy is going to change soon at SDC.

As for young Christians I have heard horror stories. Many agree that they have gotten better over the years. Most people refer to it as Young Heathens Weekend.

sdcforever

I have never gone to SDC during Young Christians Weekend, and what you have all said are the reasons why.

SteamFreak

Young Heathens Weekend, yep...that works, I don't know how many kids blew past me in the thunderation line, Ignoring all 12 "Please do not run or climb" signs then threw their nacho trays on the ground, I don't know how many of those things I acually picked up there alone.
