It's time again for Cards vs. Cubs, in St. Louis.  Both teams have been struggling a bit of late.  If the Cards can win or sweep this series, they will definitely lock up the division.  Despite the Cards' recent struggles the magic number is now...

KBCraig

Walk-off solo by Holliday, and now the magic number is...

(Old DeRosa picture chosen for deliberate sarcasm.  ;D )

Actually the magic number is now down to...

Two is shaved off the number because the Cards won and the Cubs lost! ;D

KBCraig

Yeah, you're right, I wasn't paying attention. The number was 6, but the pic of DeRosa was appropriate, since he scored the winning run on an RBI walk-off today. Which brings the number to:

And wow, what a game: 21 combined hits, but only 3 runs.

^Yeah, quite a game today.  I'm a little worried about our ability to get guys home lately.  We've been getting a lot of hits and a lot of guys on base, but we've been stranding most of them.  Also, I'm a little worried about Franklin; he blew his third save today in his last five attempts.  But we won--and a win's a win!  Let's get the sweep tomorrow night! :)

Woo Hoo  and then there were 4!!!  ;D

I guess three walk-offs in a row was too much to ask.  :-[

Boggs sure laid a big egg last night  >:(

Win/win makes it "Gnarly, duuude!"

I thought Lohse pitched very well tonight.  We're gonna need him for the post-season.  It was good to see them bring their bats to the park tonight.  Go Cardinals!
"Why do they call them Wild Women?"

Could we not find a better representation of #3?
Ugh.  That kid has issues.

KBCraig

If tonight is win/win, wait 'til you see what I have for #2.  ;D
