Not only did he take the loss but also a blown save.  He looks more like Izzy of 2007 and 2008, whereas Franklin looks more like Izzy of 2005 and 2006.

Izzy of 2007 was actually quite good. You're actually thinking of 2006 I believe.

It'll be interesting to see how things are a month from now or so.  I've been amazed at how you guys aren't hitting right now, and I know Lou's been shuffling the lineup to try to find something that clicks.

Hey a win today- Yes when your 3,4,5 hitters are all batteling nagging injuries it causes a lot of line-up changes.

WOW!  The Cardinals are just playing awesome baseball right now.  Best record in baseball at 16-7, on top or near it in most offensive and pitching categories.  Not so good on defense with all those errors, but the key is don't let them hurt you.  Starters have only allowed 3 HR's, well, make that 4 now; heck of a stat, Washington's starter allowed 3 just tonight.  I don't see this team slowing down much.  Yah, those numbers will probably come down a bit, but all the elements are there for a great season.  We've got a largely untested BP, some ups, some downs.  But they're finding their way right now, learning how to pitch in the majors.  I think they'll get better as the season goes along.  Carpenter, Ryan, Glaus on the DL, due to come off sooner or later.  That's just more pieces in place.  This Cardinal team is a force to be reckoned with.

We're leading 6-2 in Washington right now with 4 outs to get.  Should be another win to make it 17-7.  Awesome!
