I was driving down 76 yesterday at 10am on the way to the park and several green trams on the back of flat bed trucks drove past me.

:'(

looks like they are leaving the area. I wonder if they'll end up in another place performing their duty or be sent to the scrap heap?

my first visit to the park in 1988, the green tram was my first ride.  I miss them after riding in those awful white trams - no sentimental trips to SDC can be conjured up riding in the white ones.   ::)

My head will not miss the green trams!

I'm right there with you barnswingfan. It was a sad day to find out they were leaving the park. They should just spray paint the white ones seafoam green.

I miss them....remember the first time there was bout 5 yrs old and I loved the trams more than anything else

Did SDC buy new trams like the ones at Dollywood?

They should get some jeep trams like shepherd of the hills has. I'm sentimental to those too.

Whatever they have done they do not have enough to take care of the guest.  Bring back the green trams.

Ahh reminds me of a story:
To set the stage, my wife( just a girlfriend at the time), and I along with my Mom and Dad (a practical jokester) went to see the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama about 3 years ago. We waited for 10 minutes or so with a crowd of people waiting to return to our cars after the play-most of them from a bus load of Mennonites -to board the tram. As we were the first to get on and slide down the long rows to sit down, my Dad turns to us, AND THE WHOLE CROWD... and exclaims with joy "I haven't been on one of these since I went to prison!!!" By now everyone is shocked, and wondering about this strange man, and everyone proceeds to sit AS FAR AWAY FROM HIM AS POSSIBLE! Now... my dad has never been in a prison, let alone arrested for anything EVER, but the tense silence of the ride up to the parking lot, coupled with the whispers and stares of the Mennonite group, and everyone else was priceless. We held in the laughter until we got out to our car. Ahh Memories, Needless to say my childhood was eventful, and StLPhotoGal can vouch for that too (Thats my sister by the way so she is as disturbed as I am!)

I think the Herschends must have visited Havana and been inspired by their buses.  ;D

Edit: I guess the first one doesn't like hotlinking. Here are a couple more:

History Buff

^In that case, we should be allowed to sit on the roof with the chickens and the fruit.
