We had 2 "tornado days" last year but the most snow days we've ever had since I've been at this district is 2 until this year.

Nice website!!  My daughter is in 5th grade and she plays the trumpet.  This is the first year that they offer band in our school district.

We start "band" in 4th grade, but we use recorders instead of actual instruments. 
They start "instrumental band" in 5th grade.
We then have 5th, 6th, JH and HS bands.
Then outside of that we have a traveling drumline and colorguard team that competes.

No wonder I'm so tired all the time.  lol

Well "no school" for me personally as I am at a conference at Tan Tar A at Lake of the Ozarks, but my district is still having school.... I get to drive back there tonight for Courtwarming activities.  Band is performing and stuff.

I went to a speech teachers' conference two years ago at the Lake of the Ozarks, but it wasn't Tan Tara.  I think it was Point Arrowhead, or something like that.  I think we're back at the lake this fall.  I did like the area; it was my first time there.

I enjoyed my cozy day in my house.  We'll see what happens next week.  I have a speech tournament Saturday.

Has anyone on here thought of pursuing an Ed. D. program? I am looking for a reputable online University for this. With my 2 sports, 2 clubs and since I got pulled into writing curricula for 2 different subjects @ 3 different grade levels (since I am the only one that does my job in the district-I HAD TO WRITE IT!) I do not have much time to physically attend classes, so much like my masters Online is the only option...Any help would be appreciated.

I'll be finished with my Master's in May from William Woods.  My professors say they are developing a doctorate program. In case you're not familiar, William Woods has an accelerated program that meets in many towns/cities across MO.  You attend one class at a time for six weeks, and then the class changes.  The program is really structured, yet I couldn't have done it any other way at this time of my life.  It's not easy, but it makes the degree a possibility for me.

Of course, my degree is in curriculum, not my content.  Also, I have no idea how the doctorate program would be.  I can't even entertain the possibility for many, many years--lol.

We are a rural district too with almost nothing but gravel roads (shoot the town the school is in has some roads that are not paved).
As for hills... they don't call this area "Thousand Hills" for nothing.  lol
