That is one thing about the Saloon show.  No matter how busy it is, they always seem to have to BEG people to come in and see it when I am there.  'Course that never happened when they had the old cast, but we all know my thoughts on this.

I was there a few weeks ago and they were doing the same thing.
Walking by I dismissed it as a fluke but apparently not.
Maybe they need to think about the Carrie Nation Show.
That was by far the best.
Last time I saw the Salon Show it was a disjointed mess with the song " Its Raining Men" featured in one segment, I was honestly embarrassed. Maybe its time to break out the old tapes and learn an older show.
I know they tape the shows for future reference, not for release but for teaching tools, I have a few of the shows from there library.

... so we headed to Sullivan's Mill and used our coupon for some Cinnamon Bread; yummy but I just wish hot bread was available early in the morning.

Noticed that the Riverfront Playhouse was closed.  Thought that was odd because it usually has some show like Veggie Tales in it during Kids Fest.
Next time, if the cinnamon bread isn't warm, ask them to nuke it for you.  They'll be happy to do it.  The Playhouse is undergoing major lighting and some sound reconfigurations and should be back in operation by fall.

We are back from our second night at Moonlight Madness.  I just wanted to say that the return to the parking lot was smoother, although we stayed in the park until 10:00 tonight (one last ride on PowderKeg).  We were at stop four, and we got right on a tram.  It looked as though people at stop five had a longer wait.  We had a great time tonight.  We waited the longest for Lost River, and we only waited about 20 minutes.  We really didn't ride much until about 7:30.  We shopped when we first got there.

Went to the park on Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th.  Parked in Old C both times and always had trams waiting on us when we got there.  Ride lines both days were not bad at all.  Longest wait on Sat was 20 min on PK and on Sunday we just walked on every ride.  We had a problem on Sunday with the store clerk at the candy store in the Ozark Market place.  She was very rude and threw my friends credit card down on the counter and told him it was no good.  (it just would not scan) It was good because we used it later in the park.  We went to Guest Realtions and they were very nice and gave my friend and his children a free ice cream cones and told him they would deal with the problem.  My friends went away with a great appriciation of how the park strives to make people have a great day.  Had a wonderful time on park.  It had been 6 weeks since we had been there..  (and that is way too long)...  Can't wait to go back.

I hate to hear about the rude store clerk, however, I am glad to hear that Guest Relations was able to step up, and resolve the issue. I never expect to be "pampered" at a theme park, but it is nice to know that Silver Dollar City is accountable, and demands high expectations from their employees.

The "citizens" at Silver Dollar City truly are the fabric of the park, and most all of them are exceptionally great people!

just got home from moonlight madness. pretty awesome trip. good crowd but not to crowded. all rides were running while i was there. i really had no complaints with anything but alot of people around me did. ALOT of comlaints about how the parking and exits where set up ( we all know this ). but this was the worst part. the tram "announcer" guy ( im not sure what the proper name for them is) started getting a little hateful with some people over the " little to the middle rule" anyway this is a direct quote from the guy  " ITS HOT, IM TIRED, AND IM GROUCHY SO FOLLOW THE RULES"  the guy sitting in front of me then said" wow thats a great way to great the visitors when they first enter the park.  so anyway that was interesting to say the least. good trip though

I don't know how they rotate people running the trams at the park, but that guy needed a "time out"/ break or a cold shower.  You feel sorry for the guy, as I would anybody dealing with hot and humid weather and crowds.  But professionalism has always been a standard for SDC, so I hope things get worked out better.

Yeah, as a former employee, I'm actually embarrassed when I hear stories about the nasty sales clerk in the Ozark Marketplace or the guy in the parking lot who's a bit short with folks...I know in the heat of summer I was not always 100 percent perky and energetic, but, I always tried to stay in character and tried to be funny and entertaining, helpful when possible...after all, I knew it was vacation time for those visiting, and I wanted it to be a good time for them, no matter how hot it was. Several years ago in the furniture store I had an encounter with an older gentleman working there as a sales clerk, and I was taken aback when he was smart mouthed and grumpy. He could not have gotten away with it during my time at the park. Frankly, I don't like that stuff one bit. I didn't want to hear it from him. SDC is supposed to be a 100 percent happy place.

Ummmm....yeah.  I worked over 200 degree copper kettles as a craftsman and I never snapped.  and I got a lot of the guest interactions that probably would have pushed the tram driver over the edge.  But really.....not sure I can say this as a blanket statement but I chalk it up to the work ethic of today.

Obviously this was not the same clerk we had at the Ozark Marketplace.  Ours - not at the candy counter - was an older lady who practiced the fine art of interacting with customers while at the same time keeping the line moving.  It was refreshing after our poor experience the rest of the day.

I'm a DW fan, so I thought I would take a trip to SDC. We got there at 9:30, and watched the Saloon Show. We were going to ride Powderkeg, but, it was closed, so we made it over to Wildfire, and rode it with about a 10 minute wait. After, Wildfire we rode Waterworks Waterboggan, and I must say Mountain Slidewinder at Dollywood is much, much better, because in my opinion they ruined Waterworks when they rebuilt it, and it was rough with those bumps, and didn't go as fast as Slidewinder. After, the painful Waterworks Waterboggan we rode American Plunge, and I made the mistake of carrying my bag on there and it got completely soaked. After AP we went to Lost River Of The Ozarks, but it closed due to storms in the area, we thought they were crazy, we soon found out we were wrong. We got a hot apple turnover and headed to package pickup, we got out packages and headed to the exit. Then, it started pouring down rain, and we had to wait 45 minutes to get on the tram, and got soaked in the process, so we left, got home and went to Dollywood the next day LOL! :)

History Buff

Are you referring to a past trip.  The waterboggan has been dismantled this year, so you couldn't have ridden it this year.

DW FAN..  This must have been a great dream to ride on a ride that no longer exists.  And after your 12 hour drive home I am supprised you had enough energy to go to Dollywood the next day.

Wow, Silver Dollar City made you stand there for 45 minutes, and wait for a tram? And, I thought those people complaining about a 7 minute wait were having a bad day. It must have been one those new Waterworks Waterboggan trams.
