@Howdo folks---If I did that stuff with my husband he would frown at me. That surely is funny stuff though!~!

GreenTrams - do it anyways, its dark in FITH & ya couldnt see him frown'n at ya anyways. We'r pretty noisey on the ride.

Check'd out that book also Ozark BBQ, & saw the pic ya was talk'n about. Bought the CD of the Beverly Hillbillies for my brother.

I spent a few hours in the park Saturday 10/16 before going to the little Branson airport to meet my mother and her friend, flying in from Nashville. I took advantage of valet parking for the first time and loved it. $25 for more time in the park and a hassle-free exit? Sign me up.

Sunday 10/17 I returned with Mom and her friend. I called a week in advance to reserve electric scooters for them, and I'm glad I did. The instant a scooter came back it went right back out again, so I'd say reservations are a must. Call 800-475-9370; it's $34/day. If you cancel by 7pm the night before your reservation, they'll refund your credit card.

Visitors and citizens alike were very accommodating of two older ladies on their scooters. They moved out of the way, helped with bags and food trays, and were friendly and patient. If you're wondering about taking an older family member to the park, go for it. Don't try to hit everything in one day, reserve a scooter or wheelchair ahead of time, and then relax and enjoy the visit with them.

We also attended our first worship service at the Wilderness Church. Parson Lee at the pulpit and Linda at the piano led a nice service. Mom has a lovely alto voice and I'm a passable tenor, so we had fun harmonizing on the hymns.

I can't wait to go back for Christmastime!

Went to the City today and it was cloudy all day until about 5:00 went the thundershowers moved in. Lots of people but getting on the rides was not too bad. Took the Grandson on AP and RB and he didn't appreciate getting wet. My Granddaughter loved the frogs and bugs in the GE. Meet Duelist at AP, hoped to meet more people from this forum becaused I advertized with my fan tee shirt, got lots of acknowledgements that the wife wouldn't lose me because it is neon yellow. Hope to be back Thanksgiving weekend.

ok. got there about 12:30 PM..  went to Jack's for lunch,  had to wait what seemed like forever to get through the line, only 10 people in front of me... ???-  Bad start for the day,,  but the philly sandwhich was grteat!

headed to train depot to check out any progress, nothing being done at all. se my other post under construction..

got to see several of the craftsmen at work today it was nice..  about 70 or so degrees, only 5200 people. very relaxed afternoon.  short lines on the ride.  RB was pretty well empty. Train was pretty busy today.

2nd disappointment :(- went to see cajun connection.  volume was way too LOUD!!  the main singer tended to be LOUD anyway and 1/2 of time could not understand him.. IF they turned down volume might be ok..  I wont do it again this year.  I might try it once next year--MAYBE.

heading west was an excellent show, 2nd time to see it

Gac show as good as always, but this was my third time to see it, so getting as little old. ZBut still a very talented bunch of performers.

Overall good afternnon/evening PERFECT weather and NO big crowd. could not have ordered a better day.

jUST WISH I COULD AHVE VERIFIED WORK PROJECTS

Thanks for the day trip review sanddunerider! ;D

I am glad your day was mostly successful, and that the frustrating moments were sparse. You just can't beat the temperature in Branson this time of year. As far as a construction behind the fence, I doubt there will be anything much to see until we hit the off season. However, keep those eyes peeled for any surprises! :o

I absolutely LOVE Heading West!!!  It's my absolute favorite show they have at SDC hands down!  I look forward to it every year... it's the highlight of my year, really (well, that and World Fest! ;D).  I LOVE Disney movie songs, so combining a bunch of them all in one show at my favorite theme park, and giving it an 1880's theme is just awesome!!! :D

Heading West was pretty cool, I'll admit. But I must say that the two Disney songs kinda pulled me out of the show because I recognized them so clearly.

That's never happened when I recognize the use of songs from musicals and stuff. Only when they use Disney songs... Weird.

I think my favorite scene was with the old miner. He was hilarious!

I have yet to see Headin' West! It's embarrassing to admit I know. :-X For those people who have seen it, I would love to read about your reviews, and thoughts about the show.  :)

pssst.  There's more than 2. ;)

My favorite scene is the "just around the river bend" song where if you're sitting on Stage right (so the left side of the theatre if you're looking at the stage) get a nice, little (unexpected, for some) splash right in the face! ;D

My favorite song in Headin' West is "They Call the Wind Mariah".  I could listen to that guy sing it over and over.
